From Festival Booths to YouTube

It has been a while since I wrote here, and I wanted to say that plainly.

For years my work lived at art festivals: original paintings, conversations at the booth, packing and unpacking, and the joy of sending a piece home with someone who loved it. I am grateful for that season. It taught me how to talk about the work, how to listen, and how much people want beauty they can live with.

My focus has changed.

I am still painting. Landscapes still pull me in. I am also teaching — especially beginners, returning artists, and seniors who want to paint without feeling rushed or “not good enough.” Along with landscape, I will be teaching still life, flowers, and pet portraits. I work in oil, drawing, pastel, and mixed media. The difference is that I am sharing the process, not only the finished work.

The videos live on YouTube as Art with Denise Clark Weston. I film overhead so you can watch a drawing or painting unfold, hear the thinking, and try things at your own pace.
